Following his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, Bruce received his JD from the University of Memphis in 2009. He practiced at the Community Law Group in Nashville for a time before returning to open a solo practice in his hometown of Union City, Tennessee in 2010. He met wife, Raeanne, in 2014, married and moved to Glasgow, KY in 2018, where he worked as Associate for the Pack Firm, P.S.C. from 2018 to 2022, when he began his new solo practice here in Barren County to concentrate on Criminal Defense and Family Law.

Bruce has made it one of his priorities to serve the areas of Southern Kentucky lacking in local representation. He travels to Monroe, Metcalfe, Allen, Simpson, and Hart Counties in addition to Barren County for appearances.
